This accessibility statement applies to the Children's and Adults Liquidlogic Portal.

This portal is run by the provider for ��Ƶ County Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this portal. For example, that means you should be able to:

zoom in without the text spilling off the screen
navigate most of the portal using just a keyboard (including skip to content or skip to main navigation)
navigate most of the portal using speech recognition software
listen to most of the portal using a screen reader

has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Non-accessible content

We know some parts of this portal aren’t fully accessible:

some form features and filters are not fully accessible to keyboard or screen reader users
automatically generated PDF documents aren’t fully accessible to screen reader software
some forms are not labelled correctly for screen reader users
some pages do not have descriptive hyperlinks
users may be required to re-enter information that has been added elsewhere in the form
colour contrast makes it hard to read the text in some parts of the portal
strong colour contrast of focus states when using keyboard navigation are not consistent throughout the portal
links are not always descriptive and use vague terms
in some places content becomes obscured when zooming in

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance issues identified below:

the heading structure on some pages is illogical and there is an empty coded H1 field. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels
there are no discernible landmark regions coded for screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.6 Identify Purpose
when zooming in at 300% there are parts of the portal that are obscured, and users are unable to easily access content. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow and 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum)
the date picker is not keyboard accessible, instead users need to manually type the date in the correct format into the form field. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard
some links throughout the portal are not always descriptive and use vague terms or full urls This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 Link purpose
dropdown menus within the form are not keyboard accessible to select options such as to select pronouns, sex, gender identity, address type, sexual orientations, religion, nationality, immigration status, primary language or search for an address. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard
if a user makes an error on a form the error is not announced or described to a screen reader user. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.1 Error Identification
many form fields are not programmed to appear on a screen reader’s elements list. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 2.4.6 Headings and Labels
PDF documents that are automatically generated aren’t fully accessible to screen reader software and use a table layout with no heading structure and inconsistent table layouts and no table headers to aid navigation of the document. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships
when completing information within a certain area of forms, users are required to enter information that is entered added elsewhere in the form. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.3.7 (Redundant Entry). This is an introduced bug in the application which is scheduled for resolution by the provider to stop the requirement to re-enter this information.
some footer links and keyboard focus states do not have sufficient colour contrast. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)
some focus states have poor contrast when using keyboard navigation. This relates to WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible

What we are doing to improve accessibility

Upon each major release of the portal, we run accessibility checks across the whole system to ensure we flag any accessibility issues and log these for resolution with our provider.

This portal was last tested during 14 January 2025. The testing was carried out using the following methods:

Axe Developer Tools to check the underlying code
keyboard only access testing a selection of user journeys
NVDA screen reader testing a selection of user journeys
zoom up to 400% to test that the site is responsive
