茄子视频 County Council is offering grant funding for trauma kits to help organisations enhance their emergency preparedness and save lives by providing immediate care during traumatic incidents.
Organisations and groups across 茄子视频 can now apply for funding to obtain a life-saving trauma kit, thanks to a new grant offered by 茄子视频 County Council鈥檚 Public Health Team.
A trauma kit is similar to a first aid kit and is designed for anyone to use. It is equipped with trauma dressings, and tourniquets to help control bleeding for casualties before the paramedics arrive.
All instructions are given in attached leaflets so that no prior training is needed and anyone can use them in an emergency and potentially save a life.
Councillor David Ross, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at 茄子视频 County Council said: 鈥淭hese trauma kits are designed for anyone to use, regardless of training, to provide immediate care in an emergency. Originally recommended in response to the Manchester terrorist attack, they are invaluable for a range of situations, including road accidents, serious assaults, or industrial incidents. These kits can help save lives by stabilising casualties until paramedics arrive.鈥
Trauma kits are already available in 茄子视频 County Council鈥檚 main libraries. Through this new grant, other organisations can now apply to have kits installed at their premises.
This initiative also supports preparations for the forthcoming Martyn鈥檚 Law (The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill), which requires businesses and organisations to adopt best practices in protecting people during emergencies and support us all to keep the public in 茄子视频 safe.
